Making Strides in EC
www2.mdanderson.org/depts/oncolog/articles/07/1-jan/1-07-2.html
I just found this article and although it is dated 2007, I find the advances we are making in EC, though slow, are happening every day. Posted at 3:40pm on Tue, Feb 24 2009

This site has excellent information, touching stories and was one that I visited frequently when my dad was diagnosed. Posted at 3:43pm on Tue, Feb 24 2009

Cancer Compass

I was on this site daily when my dad was fighting for his life. I love it because you can go directly to a message board for whatever cancer you are trying to find answers for and chat with people who are going through the same thing. Sometimes you can even chat with nurses. I am still a member and visit the esophageal cancer board. Please share this site with others! Posted at 3:46pm on Tue, Feb 24 2009

Tacoma Digestive Disease Center
www.tacomadigestive.com/index/
I added this link for all of you who are middle-aged and have never had an endoscopy, or have had a history of acid reflux or are heavy smokers/drinkers. This is the place to go and have the procedure done if you live in this area. I had both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy done at the center in Gig Harbor and was impressed with the staff and procedure. The only way to beat Esophageal Cancer is early detection, because by the time you are diagnosed, it is already in the advanced stages. Posted at 3:54pm on Tue, Feb 24 2009

Caring Bridge

This is an amazing site that keeps family and friends informed of how your loved one is doing. I feel I was able to let everyone know how much my dad loved and appreciated them while he was sick, because towards the end of his journey, he was not able to. I still support this site and pass it along every chance I get. Posted at 4:02pm on Tue, Feb 24 2009
